Information about our electricity price components
Our electricity price consists of the following components
- Spot price
- Variable surcharges
- Balance power cost
- Electricity certificates
- Electricity trading fees
- Guarantees of origin
- Other electricity trading costs
- Fixed surcharges 4. Fixed monthly fee
Explanation of the different components The VAT rate is a fixed component, while the others vary over time. Our fixed monthly fee is 49 SEK/month including VAT and applies per household. Grid cost is not included. We have no fixed surcharges on the electricity that customers buy. Here you can read more about our price reporting guidelines and the components included in your electricity price.
Note 1: Our price reporting guidelines. We shall report electricity price components clearly and accurately. As our customer, you should be able to verify that the price you pay is transparent and fair.
Note 2: Spot price and average spot price. We only offer hourly spot prices for our contracts, which means your electricity price is based directly on the current spot price on the Nord Pool electricity exchange for each hour. The spot price is the price formed on Nord Pool and applies to all electricity trading companies. On your invoice, the term "Spot price" corresponds to your individual weighted average of the spot price, calculated based on your actual consumption per hour during the billing period.
Note 3: Balance power cost. A cost for the imbalances that we and our customers have caused in the power grid. When Svea Solar buys electricity from Nord Pool each day, purchase bids are placed for all hours of tomorrow. The size of purchase bids is based on forecasts of how much our customers are expected to consume each hour. Since the purchase bids are still just forecasts, there is always a deviation from what customers actually end up consuming. This creates unexpected imbalances in the power grid that Svenska kraftnät needs to handle by ordering certain electricity producers or large electricity users to change their production or consumption so that the power grid becomes balanced.
Note 4: Electricity certificates. Statutory fee that goes to subsidizing the expansion of renewable electricity production in Sweden. The fee is charged by all electricity trading companies, but since the electricity certificates are not traded on an open market, the price can vary between different companies depending on when the certificates were purchased.
Note 5: Electricity trading fees. Fees charged by Svenska kraftnät as the system operator for the Swedish power system. These fees cover both administrative costs and general costs for balancing the electricity system.
Note 6: Guarantees of origin. Cost for the guarantees that ensure the origin of the electricity we have sold. All electricity production must by law be origin-labeled so that the buyer of the electricity can know how it was produced. The electricity Svea Solar sells is 100% renewable.
Note 8: Surcharge. Svea Solar has no fixed surcharges for private individuals.
